London is London, Aunty Claims
By Pinky Desai
London, Ontario: In a starting revelation that has taken the local South Asian community by storm, long-time resident and real estate broker Moushmi Chaterjee claimed the other day that London is in fact London potentially implying that all references to the two being different are inaccurate.
“We are shocked” remarked Roger Anderson, head of Anderson Realty where Ms. Chaterjee works “we never knew that London Ontario and London England were the same place. I mean we hear it all the time from Moushmi but we never took it seriously. See, we’d be in a meeting and she’d say, “hey, c’mon… London is London” all the time but we have never understood till today what she meant”
Local scientists have been brought in to explain Ms. Chaterjee’s theory but few have been unable to do so. Ravi Seth, physicist at the University of Toronto claims he may have a minor understanding. “See, consider that while physically they are in different regions, in a psycho-geometric way, both cities have similar tendencies and therefore could technically be the same place, if viewed from a worm-hole perspective. There again, it may just be the weed I took talking to you right now. Wanna get high?”
Ms. Chaterjee however has avoided addressing the issue, claiming that the press is exaggerating her intent, issuing a statement that “the press is the press” and that all references to her speech should be taken out.
This still fails to explain why she indeed says the phrase “London is London” all the time and we may never know.
